Dr. Richard Frank’s award winning book, Fighting Cancer with Knowledge and Hope: A Guide for Patients, Families, and Health Care Providers was recently published in its second edition. Anyone who is diagnosed with cancer receives a frightening blow, and in many cases the diagnosis is accompanied by a bewildering array of treatment choices. In this invaluable book, Dr. Frank offers comfort and help to cancer patients, their families, and their caretakers. Dr. Frank empowers patients by unlocking the mysteries of the disease and explaining in plain language the ways to confront and combat it.

Dr. Frank is a hematologist/oncologist and Director of Cancer Research at the Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital. He also serves as Medical Director of the Mid-Fairfield Hospice in Wilton, CT.   In 2005, Dr. Frank was awarded the Humanitarian Award by the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society of Fairfield County for his commitment to patient care and education. In 2009, he was again selected by his peers as one of Connecticut’s “Top Doctors” in a survey published in Connecticut Magazine.
